First Review...

So first for a little summary!

The Hunger Games trilogy is a post-apocalyptic dystopia set in the small nation of Panem, which we assume is what is left of livable land in what used to be the USA.  Panem is divided into 12 districts.  It is a dictatorship that faced a rebellion previously by the 13th district.  Every year each district, except the Capitol, must send one girl and one boy, chosen by lottery, to participate in the Hunger Games–a reality show in which they must fight to the death until only one survivor is left.  Katniss Everdeen a smart resourceful girl from District 12 volunteers to go in place of her younger sister, Prim, the only thing she loves in the world.  She forms an alliance with the boy from her district, Peeta Mellark.  When they are left the only ones standing, they grab poisonous berries, planning to thwart the Capitol by leaving no survivors.  They, of course, are stopped and are paraded around as engaged lovers for a year.  The President is angry at them, but they believe themselves to be relatively safe from his wrath as national heroes.  The next year, however, it is announced that this year’s Hunger Game will consist of the victors from the previous games.  It is believed that this act of violence will help squash the rebellion that is brewing.  Some of the victors plot with the rebels, however, and Katniss and some other victors escape with their aid and join in on the revolution, with Katniss the symbol of the rebellion, the Mockingjay.

And now... My review!

I absolutely loved this series! In my opinion it is one of the best series I have ever read. I love the strong female character found in Katniss. A girl who has been dealt awful cards, and makes the very best with what she has. She supports her family mother and sister, who without her would almost certainly be dead. The unexpected, and a little confusing love triangle between her, Peeta Mellark, and her handsome friend Gale Hawthorn leaves for never a dull moment in Katniss' love life! The author Suzanne Collins, makes the novel seem like it is predictable however, the twists and turns in this novel made it impossible to stop reading! The second and third book are so unlike some series, in the sense that the books don't get worse, if anything they get better! The suspense builds and you find yourself close to tears in many of the aspects of the series. I fell entirely in love with all the characters in this novel and I can guarantee that you will not regret reading this book!

It Begins!!

Ok, my first post... so here we go! I love to read. I read a LOT! You know when you were getting grounded by your parents and you got the television taken away, or the computer? My punishment was that I wasn't alowed to read... and believe it or not, I would just about die everytime that it happened. Books are my escape, my escape from my 7 person family, escape from my 3 and 7 year old sisters and the noise that they make, from every and any of my problems. I read crazy amounts of books and am one of the people who, a few months after having read a book, totally forgets what it was about! My solution to this problem and my promise to you is that after every book that I read, I will post a review about it, letting you know what I thought about it, the good, the bad and the mediocre! All of it will be posted right here.

Read on!
